    3. Im getting hammered by offlist email on this, so I post here to possible help. John Couch of Kentucky married Elizabeth Campbell in Orange Co indeed !! North Carolina Marriage Bonds, 1741-1868 Bride: Elizabeth Campbell Groom: John Couch Bond Date: 02 Dec 1783 OC County: Orange Record: #:01 096 Bond: #:000096011 The bond will have the witnesses ect on it. or even relation or bondsman The sole info put out on the birth of John Couch of Kentucky was put out by Gladys Frazier listed as a source by another researcher. There is NO PROOF of his birth date. NOR any documents that place him in Surry/Wilkes Co prior 1782. i.e the John/Mary residence. There is evidence that John "might" have been in Orange co at that time. John very well might be the son of Thomas Couch and the brother of Joseph in NC Records show a John and Joseph in montgomery Co VA in almost same dates range. As someone else has has already "claimed" a John/Joseph the John of Kentucky is at a dead in in NC. The account of Gladys Frazier is disputed. As no evidence exists to back it up. A family bible that burnt up in 1960,s is NO proof. The key to finding more on John, lays with the Lewis line and the Campbell lines The key is finding out about Johns first alledged marriage. Not that he was reported to come from Germany. To may people are skipping sequencial order. John cant be toed to Europe TILL he can be proper placed in the Colonies. With the right line. Intermarriage along the line is rampant. And in many places. A son of xxx marrys the step daughter of his xxx wife. Its known John Couch of Kentucky spelled his name two ways. John Couch OR John Crouch Also note there are two lines of Couch in Kentucky although they intermingle on later line they do not appear to do so in early line. {At present} People are also getting Austin Couch mixed up highly Austin Couch b 1786 d 1834 married Daphane Eversol b 1820 Was a trailblazer into Ky.
