Kathryn, I failed to give you the date that the Couch family was recorded in the Mississippi Territorial Census. It was January 1809. My Thomas Couch (grandson of Ole Thomas of Enoree) moved with his father John Couch Sr to Greenville ca 1898. He married Elvie Lynch in Greenville and they had sons John Mitchell in 1800, Malachi in 1803 and William Lynch Couch in 1807. Legend has it that they went first to Tennessee then moved to Alabama. If they were recorded in Madison County by January of 1809 then they had only a couple of years between the time of William Lynch Couch's birth in Greenville, SC and their arrival in Alabama during the very first month of 1809. If you can check your Linconln County records for John Sr, Jr Thomas or other Couches during the period of 1807-1808 would be most appreciative. Bob Couch ---------- >From: "Couch, Robert H.
