    3. Danny, You are right. I got back home Monday evening after a week on the road. We went to Orange County and my is it a historical town. Hillsboro had many historic markers and old houses. I shall look forward to visiting the mueseum there another time. Then went to Luneburg County, VA. What a surprise! It is so tiny. Only a courthouse, a few other county government buildings a little conviencde store. I was informed there was no library there but of one existing in anothe nearby town of Victoria. Spent several hours there and saw much of what you had already sent me earlier. I do not know if you have the record of Thomas Whitworth's will (father of Mary Whitworth who married your Edward) but I copied the information down anyway should you need it. Has Thomas Whitworth's wife, and all his childrens names plus the married names of his daughters. One interesting fact was that there was a Cinthy Couch m in 1817,Thomas and Elizabeth Dunn Couch (m 1826) in Luneburg County in the early 1800s (1817-1830). Marriage records show several Couches in this family including: Eleanor, Phobee, another Thomas who married Frances Dunn in 1826. Another source listed James Couch and Rawley Couch as REV War soldiers from VA not necessarily from Luneburg Co, VA. One J. W. Couch was later in the Luneburg Light Dragoons during the Civil War. So, we did not get any real new stuff but it was great to visit and see Hillsboro, NC, Lunenburg and Couches Creek. Also found a number of Couch neighbores who later show up near the Couches in NC/SC including: Michael Waldrop who married a Couch girl, David and William Stroud. A James Meredith whose daughter Ann may have married John Couch Sr (son of Ole Thomas) was admitted to practice law in Luneburg County in 1746 the year Lunenburg became a separate county from Brunswick. All in all a great trip although I did not find any useful information. I saw one reference saying the best place to study genealogy in U. S. was probably Raleigh, NC. I did not go there but perhaps that is where we should have our next COUCH REsearch Convention.
