Bill, Of interest is former President Jimmy Carter's new novel, The Hornets Next which I got for Christmas. I am just starting it but the setting after Philadelphia is Orange County, NC and its County seat Hillsborough. Although fiction President Carter describes in some detail the people, the geography, the economy and lots of Pre-revolutionary war events and sentiments. Since Ole Thomas Couch, William, James and some other Couches were there in Orange County at the time described by President Carter it is a real neat read. Carter painstakingly strives to give authentic details to the history of the period and the place. Makes me think I better know of the Couches living there in the 1750s-60s. Take a look.
