    3. I have a Benjamin Blankenship b. 1785 in VA and died April 1853 in Bedford, TN. He married a Sarah Webb. I have nothing further on him, but that is one Blankenship family that was in the general area you are talking about - and he is from VA. The early Tennessee migrations are heavily from VA. It is possible your Couch is from the CT Couches, but I'd lean toward checking out Virginia first.
