To the best of my knowledge (which is slim), George Calvin was the only child of John Couch to go to Texas. Note: I used the name as George Calvin and that is the way it was written in the WILL of his father. This particular line of Couch is most interesting ( maybe because my grandmother was a niece of this George Calvin) but one thread which I find in them is there readiness to be in court and be affilitated with court in some capacity as well as educating their female. They also seem to be close knit in many ways. However, I guess we see what we want to see in our ancestors so this is just my opinion. Thanks again for the Memory Lane trip. ellen
Does this mean that you have none of those others from Upshur County in your family files? Also curious if you've ever visited that grave of Calvin George Couch, as the book has it listed? Is it funny that close a family would get the name switched around on the grave stone or is it a typo?
