    3. Joseph Douglas Couch Joseph Douglas COUCH Age 82, passed away April 15, 2004 in Seattle. Doug is survived by his wife of 62 years, Helen of Federal Way, WA; his 2 daughters Lynn Heigh (Ken) of Federal Way, WA, Faye Reeves (Ron) of Albuquerque, NM and son, Jay Couch (Sandra) of Fair Oaks, CA. Also survived by five granddaughters: Jaye Zern (Todd), Lesley Dryden, Sarah Couch, Stephanie Humphries (Kyle), Caitlin Reeves and two great-grandchildren. Siblings Gary Couch, Doris Beardshear, and Sandra Villm also survive. Born in Belle Fourche, SD, Doug joined the Navy as a young man and was part of military action in World War II from the South Pacific to North Africa. He continued his military career in the Coast Guard in Washington and Alaska. His retirement took him home to the Black Hills of South Dakota, eventually to Hermosa, SD where he devoted the rest of his life to raising his family and participating in community and church activities. He was an exceptional father and an award winning grandfather to the "five beauties." He was active in the American Legion, Masons, Shriners Naja Cowboy Unit. He was honored by his church, community and the state of South Dakota for his service and contributions to the community. The family prefers memorial contributions be made to Shriners Childrens' Hospitals. Visitation will start at 9:00 a.m. Funeral Service will be held Monday, April 19th, 2004 at 11:00 a.m., at BONNEY-WATSON Federal Way, 1535 S.W. Dash Point Road, Federal Way, WA (253) 839-7317. A Secondary Service will be held in Hermosa, SD, at the Hermosa Church of Christ on Thursday, April 22, 2004 at 2:00 p.m. Committal will follow at Black Hills National Cemetery, Sturgis, SD.
