Recently it has came to being noticed, that some of the sites being advertized as Couch genealogy has been making extreme changes. Deleting info on known lines and place of known origins. And replacing said with "projected" lines. Or line modified to a particular family unit. It has also been reported ans seen, some people are modifying the lines for online viewing. With data that is reverse of the known family units. Also some of the Couch lines are being changed to delete a demographic area. This is being done by persons using internet "information" And not folowing up on the lines of Known Kentucky familys aand NC lines. Sons /Daughters of the head of the line are being deleted, without just cause by some intent on having the lines to their benefit. Its strange that the lines can be modified by those who at present have no apparent Couch bloodage. Some of these researchers are throwing up sites calling them selves "professional researchers". As one site now has been modified so much as to context, it now is not even close on information. I highly advise ANYONE to research thir own lines and dismiss totally published internet sites. It also has been reported and seen, that the early lines of John Couch have been modified as to the areas they were in and documented they were in, and also the children of said John Couch of Kentucky. Names are being thrown out as being not of the line, when in fact they are. Reasons? the researchers have not a clue of the Perry lines as they are not from there. Again I myself advise ANY to use the utmost caution on any information that is being published or pushed as the "true" Couch lines. People with proven without doubt information and documentation has submitted said info to some of these sites as proof that line is not as published. This information was not acted on nor accepted. Or even acknowledged. Some of thiis other imformation has been submitted by those taking the Couch DNA and the results coming back as not in line.Yet they are providing imformation as if they are indeed a "Couch" Several changes have been made on "sites" by or from people who have no proof of Couch linage except via word of mouth. I.E Im told my father was a Couch.. so here is my info to add. Again I advise a extreme degree of caution for anyone accepting the info so published on several Couch sites at this time. Its being changed and pushed on people as correct. And the people who are publishing it are biased to the point they are accepting it as the answer to their problem. Also "books" are being pushed by several sites. I.E see this book.. this book has this.... this book is how the line is Again use extreme caution. Authors commonly made mistakes or had a one sided view to their genealogy. in conclusion. Use EXTREME caution with new info thats being modified on some established sites and a couple of want to be sites. Some of the early researches had the Kentuck/NC lines more close than one thinks. But due to some with a know it all attitude and the ability to put up a web site... the lines are fast falling to more errors
