Hi Sarah, I've never heard any one mention James T. Lewis being Cherokee, or any other tribe of NA. What I have heard is my grandfather said "there are Indians in the family" -- he didn't say which branch of the family. If you find anything about NA in the Lewis family, Gerri and I would sure like to know about it. On the other hand, though, it is tradition in the descendants of James T. and Sally Couch Lewis, that her mother, Mary/Polly was dau of a Boone and an Indian woman. As everyone knows by now, we can't find proof of that -- yet. Joyce
