    3. Hi Bob, I've been thinking (watch out !!) -- if the 25 marker DNA means a common ancestor 7 generations ago, we may need to look across the ocean. John of Perry was my 4th gr grandfather. I came along late in Dad's life (age 47), so I guess I could say I'm closer to 5th than 4th. We don't know for sure when John's father, or grandfather, came to America, much less know who he was. The common ancestor might not have come to America at all. One scenario might be our common ancestor had several sons who immigrated -- maybe even at different times and to different locations in America. Sam feels John's might have been in Connecticut before meandering down into PA and later Western VA (now WV area). It was not unusual for those old timers to move about a lot. What about the CT Couches? Do any from there match at all, or is it only Virginians? Just some thoughts which might not help at all. We're still searching. Joyce
