I have posted my thoughts on Joseph Couch of Ashe County, NC several times but there has been little mention of him. Thank you for the data you posted. I hope to get into this soon. My reason for believing this Joseph was the one that went to Knox County, Tn is that Jane (Jennetta) Couch married Rowland Blankenship in Knox County in December, 1815. She was born in NC. There at the same time was Joseph Couch, Jonathan Couch (who volunteered for the War of 1812 as did Rowland Blankenshi) and who signed the marriage bond of Jane and Rowland. There are no census records for Knox County for 1810 or 1820 which slows up the following of Joseph. His name appears on some court records during this time. It would appear than when John went to Ky, Joseph went to Tn. Why? I'd like to know and would like to know if this is indeed the Joseph of Ashe County. ' Nolene
