Documentation {original } has been found this summer, that in fact she exsisted and was indeed married to "A John Couch" The original document has been looked at by other Boon/Couch researchers. The said doucmentation does not state birth year or death, but indeed does state she is the wife of "a John Couch". The same document also has the name "Joseph" in the same body of the document although no last name for him. The fact that so many was placing strong pressure on the name "Polly" was misleading. When infact "Polly" was a generic name of the era {colonial} In colonial names Polly= elizabeth most of the time. Even though no records were found per say in Ashe or others areas. It was most likely due to the fact Ashe was not a county at the time of her death. This report was generated by early reports of Gladys Frazier. What has developed, by documents found {all original} was that the Boons were in Va extensively more so than in NC. They did infact go back and forth to NC from NC There are several John/Joseph Couch in VA in the time frame so mentioned. the "John" we refer to who married both Mary and later Elizabeth did indeed travel from VA into NC and back almost on a regular basis. He always had in party a "Joseph" as noted in other documentation Who Johns father is is unknown.... at this time... What has surfaced is a direct document tieing him to a Mary Boon and also a Joseph. At present three other researchers have seen and examined the documents Although no "dates for birth or death of Mary are on said.
