Numerous Couches have been found in Virginia. One was my ancestor Thomas Couch (wife Elizabeth) who received a land grant in what is Lunenburg County, VA (In 1725 Prince George County, 1732 Brunswick and Lunenburg 1746). Thomas and Elizabeth had son Thomas Jr in 1720 and on July 25, 1725. Matthew's birth found in Bristol Parish Register (Henrico, Prince George, and Dinwiddle Counties VA). Other relatives there at the time were James, William and possibly a John Couch and Edward Couch. May have lived on Couches Creek just west of present day Lunenburg. Since these Couches were contempories of Nathaniel perhaps they were kin. Robert H.
