Minus (maiden name unknown) children; (twins) Peggy and Penny, Joann, and another (name unknown at this time) Margaret marr. 2nd George Washington "Wash" Allison abt. 1940. There were no children born to this union. Margaret had a sister named Bessie Davenport born abt. 1890 and married "Belt" Dover. Their children were Bill and Floyd. Margaret also had a brother called "Bud" Davenport who married Maggie (maiden name unknown). They had a son named Marshall. Any help would be greatly appreiated. Thank you.
Here he is on the 1900 census: 196875 COUCH HAMILTON Apr 1852 Georgia 48 M W GA GA FANNIN COLWELL Harriet Mar 1840 North Carolina Vashtie Apr 1876 Georgia (daughter) Margaret Jan 1878 Georgia Harriet C Mar 1880 Georgia Pask,Ellen M May 1895 Georgia (grand daughter) Couch,James Oct 1884 Georgia (grand son) Hamilton and Harriet have been married 24 years. Harriet has had 3 children. This is how the census read, but something does not add up. I don't think that Hamilton is old enough to have a grandson. On the 1910 census James H Couch does list his father as born in GA and mother as born in NC. I find this most interesting. A Couch marries up with a Davenport. As a freshman in college at the University of North Alabaam I found myself in an English Class sitting next to a guy named Davenport. Our English Comp Teacher Kitty Jones thought we were putting her on. Good luck on your search.
