    3. Thank you Joyce for your reply. I just saw something in your email about the name LEWIS. I have LEWIS ancestors and on a LEWIS list the other day someone was looking for LEWIS" born in the south somewhere......Do you suppose these are Lewis's from Wales. Sarah

    3. Yes John Couch {of Ky} was in Va prior to being in NC.. He infact went back and forth. So there has to be more Couch linage there. He was known to have traveld about with either his brother or uncle or possible father {Joseph Couch} As he and John show up many times in southern VA and NC. and on adjoing land at that We know there was some Couch people on Campbells Creek as well As Campbells {now Wva} off of the Kananwha River ----- Original Message ----- From: "Joyce H. 2. Who was the challenge to Sam? I'll spell it out just in case you can't see past your paranoia. It was to the TWELVE poeple listed on Bills site who are responsible for straightening out the bad charts commonly used on the web. Gee....I wonder why those people can't work together on a common goal? It seems there's this bullying voice of blame that slithers around seeking it's next victim. I'll bet it received marks of "does not play well with others" in it's early years. If you have any more delusional comments please send them to the Offender or "Conspirator" as your mind sees it. I'm sure everyone on the list would appreciate it. Kathy P.S. maybe I'll answer...maybe not ----- Original Message ----- From: "Windwalker" <[email protected]> To: <[email protected]> Sent: Sunday, September 28, 2003 7:56 PM Subject: Re: [COUCH] Martin Couch KY Line > well iffin you think back.. 3. Hi Sarah, Of course VA Couches are welcome - didn't mean to slight you. After all, our John and Mary Boone Couch were in VA for many years, as was Joseph Couch, who was found near them many times. I don't know about Marton Couch - haven't seen him anywhere. I am still searching for an older Austin Couch, however. If you see any reference to Austin born before 1750, please let us know. The name Martin shows up in the families of at least one of the daughters of John and Mary Boone Couch. Sarah Couch Lewis named a son William Martin. Her granddau, Mary/Polly Moore Davidson also named a son Martin. As Ron said, children of Martin might not have liked the name. To each his own. I'm just glad my parents decided to name me Joyce instead of Bitha, after my grandmother !! Joyce

    3. Kathy, I wasn't aware a challenge had been issued to any of us. I didn't read that in your post. We ARE working together as a family unit -- trying to find those from whom we descend, and making sure they're the right ones this time. We know there is a lot of incorrect stuff on the internet, and what we are doing is going after the real, accurate, documented stuff. AND we have been finding it. Lots of it. It is there if one only knows where and when to look. Joyce

    1. [COUCH] VA Couches?
    2. Sarah Rierson
    3. Are there enough VA COUCHES to have a meeting???? Just my female curiosity. Everything seems to be Kentucky.....I have lots of names of Virginia Couches... are we outcasts because not from Kentucky? LOL Danny Couch has a copy or at least has seen all these pages. What do you think Danny? Are not some of them your relatives? Also in these pages there is a Marton Couch born 1780 in Buckingham Co, VA. Could that be is typographical error?

    2. Sam, Don't know if Everette was there or not. When my brother and I arrived, everyone was busy eating and we really didn't talk to too many folks. The few I chatted with didn't know beans about my line, but again I only spoke with a few. One fellow had some pictures of a Noah Couch. I don't know anything about Noah Couch, do you? There were around three to four dozen folks there. They fed us a great meal. We said our goodbyes and then drove to Buckhorn to visit our place of birth and then to Yerkes to visit Thornton Couch's grave site. SE Ky hasn't changed much and maybe that's a good thing.

    2. My DNA link to the KY line is gone?? I don't feel any different. :-) Sam, where were you during the Couch reunion? I expected to see you there chasing after widow women, but no.......Was I at the right Couch reunion? Someone was talking about the passing on of first names and how it is so often done. Agreed. But there is no hard and fast rule. If a name like "Igor" pops up all bets are off. Maybe Martin was just not a name the descendents felt like tagging on one of their boys.
