Rosetta "Rosa, Rose, Rosie" COUCH was born in 1871, supposedly, in North Carolina, and, according to the obituary of two children, she married a Ed COUCH, shown on the census under "father's birthplace" as born in South Carolina. According to the obituary of one child, Rosetta's maiden name was ABLES, but I have yet to identify a Rosetta "Rosa, Rose, Rosie" ABLES within a appropriate age bracket in the 1880 North Carolina or South Carolina census. She had the following known children: Hassie/Hessie (1891), Fredrick (1895), Sandacia (1898), McKinley (1900), Haywood (ABT. 1902), Conestee (1905), James (1907), and Zulene (1910). All born in the Pickens and Dacusville areas of Pickens County, South Carolina. The family has been identified on the 1900, 1910, 1920 and 1930 Pickens County, SC censuses. Within all, Rosetta is listed as a widow. I have identified only two possible "Ed"s in South Carolina within the 1880 census, one in Pickens (Eddie D, a son of William) and one in Greenville (Edward, a son of Benjamin, I believe), but neither is a likely candidate for father of our COUCH children. On the Greenville Co. S.C. 1860 census, Edward Couch is 75, his wife Sarah is 60. Edward is living next to Susan Cox, age 70. Susan was said to be a Couch before she married John Cox. Does anyone have information on the possible connection between Edward Couch and Susan Couch Cox? Thanks, Eddie

Here's what I know: Jemima Couch b 12-MAR-1811 d Verona (Oneida) NY 16-JAN-1900 m Rome (Oneida) NY 25-DEC-1831 Davis Thayer b 11-APR-1810 d 04-APR-1878. Jemima is the daughter of Elisha Couch. Both of Jemima's parents were born in Connecticut. My question: Is the Jemima Couch mentioned above the daughter of Elisha Couch and Lucy Loveland? Both Elisha and Lucy were b Glastonbury (Hartford) CT and married in Glastonbury (Hartford) CT on 08-SEP-1799. Lucy Loveland died in Rome (Oneida) NY c1853. Any info would be greatly appreciated.
