Dear friends and Cousins, I have created a new website at www.couchco.com . I am inviting you all to join a bulletin board I have created to discuss and research our common ancestry. I have been working with Bill Couch at couchgenweb and decided we needed a bulletin board without commercialization and all the other pop ups that come about with a lot of the common registries. I hope you will find time to look at the website and join our bulletin board.New Bulletin Board for Couch S Sincerely Your DNA Cousin Jeff Couch
I just posted a new chart at http://www.couchgenweb.com/couch2/xxxcouch.htm we had a Jacob & George in Gilmer co. Ga. 1850 census their descendants stay between Gilmer,Fannin Ga and Pope Co. Tennessee. Does anyone know who their Parents were and can you add or connect to this family. Bill Couch
I find this most interesting. A Couch marries up with a Davenport. As a freshman in college at the University of North Alabaam I found myself in an English Class sitting next to a guy named Davenport. Our English Comp Teacher Kitty Jones thought we were putting her on. Good luck on your search. Here he is on the 1900 census: 196875 COUCH HAMILTON Apr 1852 Georgia 48 M W GA GA FANNIN COLWELL Harriet Mar 1840 North Carolina Vashtie Apr 1876 Georgia (daughter) Margaret Jan 1878 Georgia Harriet C Mar 1880 Georgia Pask,Ellen M May 1895 Georgia (grand daughter) Couch,James Oct 1884 Georgia (grand son) Hamilton and Harriet have been married 24 years. Harriet has had 3 children. This is how the census read, but something does not add up. I don't think that Hamilton is old enough to have a grandson. On the 1910 census James H Couch does list his father as born in GA and mother as born in NC. Can anyone place this Andrew Couch who show up in 1900 Census of Marshall County, Alabama. So far I have not been able to locate him on another Census. And I can only Account for Samuel N. Jacqueline, I found Charles and Elizabeth on the 1900 census living in Santa Clara, Santa Clara Co., CA. The census says that Elizabeth N. (Couch) Page was born December 1876 in England. They are living with Charles' mother, Mary A Page. The census says Mary was born in March 1844 in Ohio, but the 1900 census is frequently off on birth dates. It says Charles R. Page was born May 1873 in Ohio. Is this right? There are 3 children; Clarence S. born Feb. 1896 in CA, Mary Y. born Dec. 1897 in CA, and an unnamed daughter born May 1900 in CA. Also on the 1900 census I found a Rachel Clink as head of household living in Santa Clara, Santa Clara Co., CA. It says she was born Dec. 1839 in Ohio. Also living with her is her son, George S. Clink born Dec. 1873 in Ohio. On the 1910 census Charles and Elizabeth are living in Corcoran, Kings Co., CA. They have 4 children, but the names are very hard to read. You have Clarence and Mary from the 1900 census. The other 2 are daughters, but I can't read their names. On the 1920 census Clarence is living in Auberry, Fresno Co., CA with a wife and a child. I can't find Charles or the daughters. In 1930 I found a Charles Page living in San Jose, Santa Clara Co., CA with his brother Edward. This Charles was born abt. 1872 in Ohio. I don't know if it is the right Charles Page or not. Hope this helps, Becky Griswold --- Ldystarhawk69@aol.com wrote: > My name is Jacqueline Marquez and I am researching > my maternal ancestors. Do you know when Charles Page was born? What County was Elizabeth burried in? There are 26 Charles Page's on the 1910 Census in California and 14 in 1900. If I can figure out which one he is in 1910, it would help to find out more on Elizabeth.
