I wonder if anyone on this list is in position to provide further information on the writer and novelist William Carleton, born in Clogher, Co Tyrone, in 1794, and best known for his /Traits and Stories of the Irish Peasantry/? I am particularly interested to know if he is any relation to John William Carleton, who edited the Sporting Review (under the psudonym 'Craven') between 1830 and 1860? Try as I might, I've been able to turn up no reference to William Carleton's family on-line, and hoped that someone here might either have information to hand, or might be able to recommend a detailed biography.
