Just got online. See http://www.groireland.ie/apply_for_a_cert.htm for how to apply online (and via other methods). Keep in mind, for Co. Tyrone BMDs, you can only order through the GRO until 1921. After that, only GRONI has Tyrone BMDs. Claire K. (All, doesn't someone, GRO or GRONI, let you order online? I can't get online to check at the moment). I just wanted to clarify a different point--even if you go to the GRO in person, you don't get to make the photocopy yourself. In fact, you can't even see the register. You provide the info from the index and the staff copy it for you behind the scenes. And unless things have changed since my last GRO visit, there's a limit to how many you will be given in one day; anything over that limit will be mailed to you. Which is really unhelpful if you don't live locally! > > Claire K. > > Sent from my iPad > > On Oct 11, 2013, at 4:33 PM, "MPGish\(yahoo\)" <[email protected]> wrote: > >> hi. >> Please clarify this answer, i've looked at the 2 sites: >> 1. does this mean you need to go there IN PERSON to photocopy the actual original record? >> 2. what if you can't get to the GRO room yourself, how do you get a copy of the original record? >> thanks for all your help! >> >> Peggy (Margaret) Gish, >> CANADA
