    2. Hi Folks, I think there is a place for both. Lists cannot do photos and photos always attract far more "likes" than anything else. I have my own Fb genealogy page and know that from experience. And also, photographs can encompass pages from the Gv or from the Abercorn Rent Books. One of the most popular posts ever on my Fb page was a screenshot of... dare I say it, Clare... what turned out to be genealogy gold dust, which I found on the Abercorn Rent Rolls and which entirely solved a project I was doing by linking a family to the researcher in America. People clearly appreciated seeing the actual page. On the other hand, Fb is very ephemeral with everything vanishing off the bottom of the page and no archives to search. I have tried putting useful notes into the... Notes.... section but I don't think anyone ever reads them so I have to keep highlighting them by reposting them for newbies. This is not very useful. Lists however are always searchable. In fact, I often discover new info by googling a name and find that when I come to read a hit, it is from a List and has an address I can reply to and get more information. As for the privacy issue, sorry, I just don't wear that. I have nothing to hide and Mr. Obama or anyone else is very welcome to read anything I write or know where I live or who my mother was. Maybe I am naïve but I really cannot subscribe to the Big Brother theory. So, let's welcome both because if you do not use both, you are seriously missing out, as Clare has pointed out.
