So I was thinking of the two X chromosomes carried by each female and one by each male when I stated incorrectly here. Men are XY and women are XX. Any female gets one X from her dad and one from the two Xs her mom carries and each male gets one of the two Xs his mom carries, so the combinations inherited give no straight and clear lineage information. That's what comes of writing about a subject one is not expert on when having had only a couple of sips of coffee instead of the full mug. Sorry for any confusion.
