    1. Re: [CoTyIre] ARMSTRONG from Tyrone and a lot of questions

    3. I'm researching Hopkins in Co Tyrone and their neighbors were Armstrongs - but not with your first names - perhaps relatives?? Barony of Upper Dungannon, Parish of Desertcreat, Townland Moymore (sometimes listed as Limehill). First I see Thomas Armstrong and next door is David Armstrong. Later Thomas is crossed out and Robert Armstrong takes over that land. Then John Armstrong takes over Robert's land. At one point I see John Armstrong, Jun. listed with the townland named as Lime Hill. David Armstrong is the only name listed for his land on all records. I'm sure Armstongs are all over Ireland!!! I think this might be my Samuel, and the William may be his brother or father. I don't think they would have counted a boy, since William son of Samuel was born in 1852. So I know that my Armstrong's are from the Townland of Bracky. I kind of assume that is like our townships in Canada. A small area that might have small towns, etc. > Where is this place on a map today? Can I get to it when I visit? > And finally, any advice about our visit. We are going for 10 days, will visit both Irelands, North and Republic. We are renting a car and staying in bed and breakfasts. My husband and I like scenic drives and not so touristy places. So neither of us will be kissing the Blarney Stone. > Any help and advice is appreciated. > Finally thawed out in Canada > Maggie Marion > > ------------- > Our community web-site: http://cotyroneireland.com/ > > ------------------------------- > To unsubscribe from the list, please send an email to COTYRONEIRELAND-request@rootsweb.com with the word 'unsubscribe' without the quotes in the subject and the body of the message
