    3. I have an Armstrong family with a mention of Termonmaquirk. I have not done in-depth researching on them. The names of the persons may well be incomplete. Perhaps this information will help Maggie Marion or someone else. Mentioned in Flax Growers Bounty List of Tyrone 1796 as at Termonaquirk Rev. Archibald Armstrong, son of Robert est DOB 1795 at Clougherny. After his father's death it seems that he continued to occupy the same house. He married Isabella Davison, eldest daughter of Rev. John Davison and his first wife Jane Ekenhead, in 1825, likely in Cookstown, TYR. I know of 11 children, all of whom would have been born migrated to America with Pittsburgh (Allegheny City), PA and Shelbyville, Bedford Co., TN being the two main locations. - John born abt 1826, living in Shelbyville, Bedford, TN in 1857 - Robert born 11827/28, living in Bedford Co., TN in 1860, died before 1870 married Annie ___ and two children known - Alfred born abt 1831, living in 1857 and possibly at Shelbyville in 1860 with a wife - Thomas born 1831/32 living at Philadelphia, PA in 1880 with wife Rhoda and five children - Jane born abt 1833, brought her sisters to Allegheny City in 1854, died there unmarried in March 1857. - Archibald (Archy) born Sep 1835, went to Pittsburgh, then Shelbyville and was at Nashville in 1920. I think this might be my Samuel, and the William may be his brother or father. I don't think they would have counted a boy, since William son of Samuel was born in 1852. So I know that my Armstrong's are from the Townland of Bracky. I kind of assume that is like our townships in Canada. A small area that might have small towns, etc. > Where is this place on a map today? Can I get to it when I visit? > And finally, any advice about our visit. We are going for 10 days, will visit both Irelands, North and Republic. We are renting a car and staying in bed and breakfasts. My husband and I like scenic drives and not so touristy places. So neither of us will be kissing the Blarney Stone. > Any help and advice is appreciated. > Finally thawed out in Canada > Maggie Marion > > > > ------------------------------
