McCARROLL (or CARROLL), Michael Joseph, born in Corkhill, Co. Tyrone, 1879; immigrated to San Francisco 1867 on the MS Eutruria, then returned to Omagh and Fintona, Co. Tyrone, where he became a merchant and auctioneer. He died in 1924 and was buried in Eskragh RC cemetery, in the family plot. In examining Patricia McSorely's A While With Your Own Ones, I noted a picture of a receipt, dated July 1910, made out to Patrick McCarroll of Larnaglare (sic) for merchandise from MICHAEL J. CARROLL, General Merchant. Would anyone know just who this general merchant was, and exactly where he was located in July 1910? My grandfather's place of business, which included spirits, was on Main Street in Fintona. It appeared that he did not return until about 1912, but we have no record of his return or have we seen any manifests with his name on them.
