Hello All, According to a Statistical Survey of County Tyrone written by a John McEVOY in 1802. John McEVOY was a skilled nurseryman who ran a nursery in Collon, County Louth for the Right Honorable John FOSTER (an eminent Irish Statesman, and as adviser to the Earl of Abercorn about planting trees on his Irish Estates. John McEVOY took over the development of the forests on the Mountjoy Estate at Rash in the north of Omagh in 1791.( have a copy of the book) The following extract , part of a page of an Irish genealogy website 'From Ireland' copyright Dr. Jane LYONS, Dublin, Ireland.......identifies the existence of a Will for John McEVOY who endowed a school at KNOCKMOYLE for poor children in MOUNTJOY FOREST. ........................Civil Registration Reference Extracts: CAPPAGH, a parish, partly in the barony of OMAGH, but chiefly in that of STRABANE, county of TYRONE, and Province of ULSTER................................Second last paragraph...........The male and female parochial schools are situated on the glebe, and are supported by the late Sir W. McMAHON; a school at KNOCKMOYLE was founded under the Will of John McEVOY, who endowed it with 16 pounds per annum, for the gratuitous education of poor children in MOUNTJOY FOREST, and vested in management in the Rector for ever.........
