Hi Theresa, Yes, I am actually aware of these transcriptions, mainly because the lady at my FHC spends most of her time transcribing them when I am there! Quite how the issue of the NI BMD index records post 1922 will be resolved I do not know. I would be delighted if the GRO was not the only repository of this data because quite apart from the money it charges, I do not find the people there particularily helpful. This issue has been aired before on this List. The Mormons are always much more friendly and helpful. These indexes are meant to be going online at LDS site sometime in the near future as the transcription of them is now complete. On the pilot site with data from other countries that has already been transcribed and uploaded, the original images are also available for many of them. I would imagine that the transcriptions of the images of the Ireland indexes will still be available even if the images arent. As I'm one of the indexers on the current LDS transcription project, I'll email them to see if they can clarify what's happening. Anyone who is interested in seeing what new records have already been transcribed and are available to search and look at images can find them at http://search.labs.familysearch.org/recordsearch/start.html?datestamp=119731 1563597#p=0 Cheers Theresa _________________________________________________________________ Win New York holidays with Kellogg's & Live Search http://clk.atdmt.com/UKM/go/111354033/direct/01/ ------------- Our community web-site: http://freepages.genealogy.rootsweb.com/~cotyroneireland ------------------------------- To unsubscribe from the list, please send an email to COTYRONEIRELAND-request@rootsweb.com with the word 'unsubscribe' without the quotes in the subject and the body of the message
