Hi Listers, Just thought you might like to know that the GRO in Belfast has sequestered from the Family History Centre (the Mormons) in Derry, the microfilms of all Northern Ireland Civil Births, Marriages and Deaths post Partition in 1922, which they had allowed the FHC to copy some 20 years ago. I wonder why. You don't think it mught be that they wish to have exclusive access to these records so that they can sell them at extortionate rates? There is only one word to describe that and I will not sully your delicate ears with it but it is the word that unsympathetic Nineteenth century clergymen sometimes used in their baptismal registers to describe the progeny of illegitimate relationships. Makes me want to spit. Regards, Boyd PS: does everyone out there know what IS available at the FHC in Derry, because it is one of the best centres for genealogical records outside Belfast.
