My family is planning a trip to trace our Irish roots in Tyrone county in September. I am hoping I might find some links before we arrive. My husband's GG grandfather was James Gilmore (spelling may have changed) born in Omagh, county Tyrone in abt 1803. He married Matilda Smith, born in Omagh (some accounts say Queen's county) in 1807. James died in 1845 and Matilda and the nine children emigrated to America between 1846 and 1848. James died in Omagh in 1845. We know the family had the children baptized Presbyterian. The nine children were: James, born 1826-1832, Ann, born 1830, John, born 12/24/1831, Eliza, born 1834, William, born 3/14/1836, Katharine, corn 4/17/1838, Isabelle, born 1840, Frances, born 9/20/1845, and Thomas, born abt 1847. All children were born in Omagh as far as the records we have. Do you have any information on the family, or does anyone else have anything. Any facts or burial place, etc. would make our trip so much more meaningful.
