    3. Further to the recent discussion (February list messages) on the LDS reference numbers. I said that I would try to find out more about the details on the LDS Pilot site and if records could be ordered using the page and volume number. I was in Dublin last week and went into the Irish Life centre and completed the form for a marriage and death record using the Volume and page number and district that I picked up on the LDS pilot site. Within 10 minutes I had the copies in my hand. I had no idea of the Church where the marriage took place, just knew from LDS that the district was Dublin South. I also asked the genealogist in the National Archives who held the original registers and according to her the original volumes were divided between the North and the South, according to what was defined as North and south. However because of earlier divisions it may not be a "clean Cut" relating to today's borders and this would be why my family on the Armagh Border may be in Dublin and not Ireland. Hope this helps any of you applying for records. Lena Reid Belfast
