Hi Helen, You could start with Irish birth registrations, to see if you can find a registration for Catherine Callahan; if you find the right certificate, you'll know the precise townland and parish in CoTyrone in which she was born -- which will hopefully also be your Callahan's home place. The LDS has just put up the Irish BMD indexes on their Lab site -- http://search.labs.familysearch.org/ (click on Europe, scroll down to Ireland). Poke around and see if you can find possibilities for Catherine's birth c. 1872. Then you can order a copy of the registration (either from the GRO in Dublin or the LDS in Salt Lake) and see if you can confirm the date and location of Catherine's birth. Just be aware that you might have to take the "born 1872" with a grain of salt, so you might have to search some years either side of that date to find the right registration. Hope that helps...
