    3. Hello wonderful fellow descendants from County Tyrone, I am a novice to genealogy research. I am loving the emails from the Co. Tyrone Ireland digest. I was wondering if anyone had access to information on my g.g.grandfather Joseph Wilson married to Elizabeth (Eliza) Ross from the Parish of Ardstraw. Joseph's son Andrew Wilson, my g.grandfather was born 1830 in Rastiner or Ratyn. in Ardstraw, Co. Tyrone. Andrew Wilson married his first wife Ann Maxwell, (also from Ardstraw, Tyrone) in Australia on 5th January 1865. After Ann's death on 6th September 1875, Andrew married Susan Muldoon, my g.grandmother, on the 22nd Feb 1877 in Gerringong, Australia. Susan Muldoon was born in Co. Fermanagh Ireland, the daughter of "Christie" Christopher Muldoon and Ann Gilbert. Any information would be gratefully received. With thanks and warmest regards from Brisbane, Australia Janet Fairless janet.f@optusnet.com.au +61 7 3862 1909 cotyroneireland-request@rootsweb.com wrote: > You are receiving this email because you subscribed to the CoTyroneIreland-D mailing list. 3. Hello Janet. Welcome to the world of genealogy, and how nice to read your lovely greeting to Tyrone listers. I hope that they might be able to help you out with aspects of your research. I don't have anything in Ireland to help you with, but just in case you are not aware of a couple of oz sources which might be relevant to your researches, I am putting them in here for you. Firstly: Given that your WILSON family was in Gerringong, (NSW, Oz -- for non-oz listers), I'd suggest that you join the rootsweb NSW-SE (New South Wales - South East) list. The list administrator is John GRAHAM, who has undertaken LOTS of deep research in the region. Here is a link about that list: http://lists.rootsweb.ancestry.com/index/intl/AUS/AUS-NSW-SE.html I'd also suggest looking through the ARCHIVES to that list, at your leisure. (However I've been told that you can search in those archives but I don't know how to do that. My computer stuff is limited to e-mails and accessing web-pages. ha ha.) ALSO: Are you aware of the 2 Pioneer Registers issued a few years back by the Wollongong Family History / Genealogy Society? Lots of great quality content. You should be able to get it on Inter-Library loan via your local public library -- and the Queensland Family History Society might also have it in their collection. If you haven't yet used the Immigration Deposit Journals at NSW State Records -- in their ARK/GRK which you should be able to access in Brisbane, not least at Oxley Library, I'd guess - but probably also at the Qld FHS library. I'd suggest first using the INDEXES to the Immigration Deposit Journals, issued on microfiche by Pastkeys. And you have probably already done the Shipping and Immigration Lists; judging by the townland information which you have already. Hoping that some of this might be helpful to you; and apologising if you have already done all of this. AND of course, if you havne't yet found it, you will be sure to find LOTS of relevant information in our own County Tyrone web-site, which is usually shown at the foot of most postings to the list. Finally, for your county Fermanagh MULDOONs etc., if you haven't yet done so, I'd suggest joining the Fermanagh-Gold list. Here is the link to info for that: http://lists.rootsweb.ancestry.com/index/intl/NIR/FERMANAGH-GOLD.html Good Luck.
