    3. Good morning, George, The combination Skiffington-Kelly caught my eye...because.... I cannot trace my husband's great-grandfather's beginnings, shall we say. PATRICK SKIFFINGTON was born around 1815, PERHAPS in Donaghmore, Co. Tyrone. PERHAPS he is the same Pat. Skiffington who sailed on the Jane Walker in 1834. The first documentation we have of him is his marriage to BRIDGET KELLY (b. Ireland, 1814) in The Basilica of the Blessed Assumption, Baltimore, Maryland, USA, in 1840. They had at least five children, christened in St. Peter's R.C. Church, Baltimore. Md. In 1863, during the American Civil War, he fought with a Baltimore Infantry regiment, where he received injuries when he fell on his bayonet and died six months later at his home in Baltimore. This is a shorthand version, and limited narration, of what we know about PATRICK SKIFFINGTON. If you have anything that might help us to pinpoint him more closely to your Skiffingtons (and even Bridget Kelly), I would be so appreciative as we have been on the hunt for him for 40 years now, having gone up hill and down dale in trying to find his roots, shall we say. Maisie Egger (Born, Glasgow, Scotland, where I have oodles of info. on my side, and am trying to find the same for my Austrian-Irish-American husband!) > Today's Topics: > > 1.
