I am the GG Grandson of John Henderson and Mary McKenna, who emigrated from Errigal Trough, in either County Tyrone or County Monaghan, near Aughnacloy, around 1850. They settled in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania where they had a number of children, including my Great Grandfather, James Alexander Henderson. I know a great deal about him, but next to nothing about his parents. John (b. 1811) was a drayman in Pittsburgh. He died in 1871 and is buried in St. Mary's RC cemetery in Pittsburgh. Mary (b. 1825) died in 1905 and is buried with him. Several of their children are buried with them as well. I have some information about their origins from a travel diary that James kept of a trip they made in 1897. John used to go to market in Aughnacloy. John and Mary were married in a church in Errigal Trough. Mary had a sister Catherine McMahan who lived in Glaslough, County Monaghan, in 1897. Catherine had two sons and four daughters, two of whom were Margaret Donnelly, and Mary, a widow. Catherine also had two nephews, Thomas and Patrick Onay(?) McKenna who apparently still lived in Errigal Trough or in Aughnacloy at the time. This is all that I know of my Henderson and McKenna ancestry, and I would like to learn more.
