I'm searching for GGG grandparents Ann Meehan (or Mehan?) born in County Tyrone on 1 May 1826 and died in Mississippi on 1 July 1911. Ann immigrated to the US likely around 1846-48 and married William Bernard Daly (Dailey on some census) on 2 October 1849 in Mobile, Alabama. Bernard Daly (or Dailey) was born in County Tyrone on 2 April 1826 and immigrated to the US in 1846. He died in Mississippi on 6 Feb 1908. I'm looking for leads to Roman Catholic baptism records, birth records, ship passenger lists or any other leads anyone can suggest about where they came from and who were their parents names. Family history suggests they are either from Omagh or Armagh area, but all agree on County Tyrone. Searching links from County Tyrone website, I've found a Bernard Daly listed on a "tithe" list and another listing a Bernard Daly as a tenant farmer on an estate list in a townland called Enamar but can find no listing of that townland. I'm wondering if this is my Bernard's father?? I find a and a merchant with the name of Francis Meahan in Omagh on another site listed as a timber merchant and tobacco manufacturer (but if he was well to do -- that would NOT be my relatives if they immigrated during the famine.) -- Carol Emmett Windermere, FL USA 34786
