    3. Subject: PRONI Closure - Relocation To the folks at Ulster Ancestry: I for one who have been dealing with genealogy for years do not begrudge PRONI the time requied to a. move to a new premises and b. to be shut down for a while. If you need 9 months then take 9 months. It has always been my experience that any temporary shut down for a geneaolgy site is always estimated to be longer than it will actually be. Look how long the folks in the Republic took to load up the 1901 Census and even at that with the huge logistical support from National Archives of Canada in order to make it free and to get the job done. In this case due to delays in Dublin it took almost another full year to get the job done. As a patient Canadian for whom the PRONI has been a great help, I have no complaints. Do what you think needs to be done on your own schedule. Drop us a line when you are up and running again. Eric Macklin As in all genealogical endeavours, The further back you look, The further back you see.
