    3. You say you 'think' Joseph married Catherine Rooney - well David, I agree that your Joseph Bayne married Catherine Rooney: Entry Details Record Type Civil Marriage Date of Marriage 26 Sep 1914 Groom Name joseph Bayne Bride Name catherine Rooney Church Cookstown Roman Catholic Church Parish Derryloran Civil District Cookstown County Tyrone I've looked at the 1911 Census records and agree with Clare L when she says that Joseph was listed as a son of Jane McGUCKIAN. I cannot find a record of Joseph's death; I've searched Ireland's Civil Registration Index (1845-1958) and the Commonwealth War Graves Commission sites. Regards .... 2. David Bayne
    3. Hi Carmen, This is what I found in the CWGC Casualty Details Name: BAYNE Initials: J Nationality: United Kingdom Rank: Private Regiment/Service: Royal Inniskilling Fusiliers Unit Text: 1st Bn. Age: 30 Date of Death: 01/10/1915 Service No: 3022 Additional information: Husband of Catherine Bayne (nee Rooney), of Orritor St., Cookstown. Wounded on Gallipoli. Casualty Type: Commonwealth War Dead Grave/Memorial Reference: In South-East part. Cemetery: DERRYLORAN (CHAPEL HILL) ROMAN CATHOLIC CHURCHYARD So, sadly, they had only been married for a year when he died. Thankyou for the marriage information - every little part of the jigsaw helps! Do you have some interest in Bayne's or Rooney's that you had a record of the marriage or do you just have access to the information in general? And while I'm asking, a distant Bayne cousin of mine recently married a Ferguson in the Cookstown area - any connection do you think?
