I haven't seen anything come up from anyone else either searching for or knowing something about the Burnside/Hogg family that are our ancestors. William Burnside married Margaret Hogg in the area of County Tyrone so far as we know. Their children John (or Joseph), Robert, Margaret and James were born in County Tyrone according to family stories. William had two brothers who also came to the USA, probably somewhere between 1812 and 1825 as nearly as I can figure out. His brothers, Robert (the older of the three) and Joseph (the younger of the three) settled in Pennsylvania. Robert stayed in the Philadephia area. William and Margaret eventually ended up in Londonderry, Ohio and are buried there under a large marble slab, supposedly imported from Ireland according to a local Londonderry source who showed us around what's left of the little town. We think they were most likely Presbyterian, with their ancestry going back to Scotland, perhaps. Please let me know if you have any information that might help make some connection there where I can find records. I know there are a few that got the Flax Growers honor-thinking perhaps the Robert Burnside there might be an ancestor since we also have Roberts (but doesn't everybody!!!)
