    3. Lyn: I haven't heard of "Old Cookstown Road" in Cookstown. There is (and was) an "Oldtown Street" and McGuckens had lived there. I had previously mentioned to you that McGuckens had owned a licensed hotel, The Commercial Hotel, in Cookstown (in Oldtown Street). James was a farmer, publican, and funeral undertaker. In fact they had a very interesting court case back about 1990 - I attended high school with the plaintiff in the case back in the very early 50s (I recall that he was a wonderful artist). Here's a link where you can read about the proceedings. http://www.ucc.ie/ucc/depts/law/restitution/archive/nicases/mcgucken.htm And, here's a link for Ulster Street Directories 1819-1900: http://streetdirectories.proni.gov.uk/aetopia/WebObjects/StreetDirectories.woa/2/wo/2JhqbbDQosB1678XG0chFw/2.0.0.1.5 Carmen in Canada ----- Original Message ----- From: "Lyn Baker" <lb352528@bigpond.net.au> To: <COTYRONEIRELAND@rootsweb.com> Sent: Friday, November 27, 2009 2:33 AM Subject: [CoTyIre] post office directories for Cookstown >I have a relative , James McGucken, who was living at 3 Old Cookstown >Road, Cookstown Urban, Tyrone on the 1911 census.
