Hi! Does anyone know if the catholic cemeteries in or near Caledon , Tyrone are available or if someone might have done a database on them? Looking for information on the family of James and Annie McGrane of Curlough. Thanks goodness for the 1911 Irish Census Any hope that we might see 1901? Always looking for idea and sugguestions. Sheila
The National Archives of Ireland has pushed back the date for uploading the digitized 1901 Irish census, to late 2009 / early 2010 (no precise dates given). Meanwhile, the 1901 Tyrone census is indexed on microfiche (available at many libraries / depositories) in a binder published by Largy Books, Linda Meehan, ed. As far as I know, it's out of print, but copies are findable (at least in the cities I frequent). Try world.cat to see if a library near you has it available. (Sorry, I just checked, that doesn't help -- only two libraries have entered it into worldcat -- the National Library of NZ and the State Library of NSW. You'll have to do it the old-fashioned way, and check the catalogs of specific libraries you're interested in). Or you can check the LDS Family Search catalog to get the information you need to order in the microfilm to a FHC near you. Hope that helps.
