Several weeks ago with the help of Laurel and Clare I now have my Martin familys' townland and parish name...Coolkeeragh townland and Longfield east parish and siblings names,,Joseph, Michael, Catherine, Ellen and Ann ( This possibly being shortened from Roseanna ).All this from a bank record. I knew Joseph was born in Ireland, Nov. 25, 1836, died Jan 3,1899 in South Carolina,this from his obit.. Michael was born 1826 and came to U.S. in 1858 and died there in 1886. This from his death cert.. Nothing known of brother Charles nor sister Catherine. Don't know if they came to N.Y. or stayed in Ireland. Sister Ellen married James McKenney/McKenna and Ann(Roseanna) married John McKenney/McKenna. This from the death certs. of Ellens' daughter ELLEN and Ann' daughter ROSANNA.These two ladies having come to U.S. and lived with their uncle JOHN MARTIN ,....and died in N.Y. Contacted two researchers and both have said basically impossible because of the dates I am searching for. These being Thomas Martin died 1837-1838 ,this according to a bank record of one of their sons John who came to N.Y. in 1846 in which he also says," his mother is Rose Mullin who is still living in Coolkeeragh". I have found that apparently the parish of Longfield East and Longfield West has been absorbed and is now Langfield. I am at a loss as to what to do now. I don't know what church was theirs to check records from, I don't know birth/baptisimal/marriage or death dates for the sisters or Charles to search that route. I have come to a stand still searching for probates and death certs. in N.Y. Is this where I throw in the towel? Suggestions ,please! Thanks again Laurel and Clare .
