    3. Try http://www.ordnancesurvey.co.uk You can get on line maps free but I must say I have more success searching by postcode than townland. They also do paper maps including N Ireland. Northern Ireland used to have its own OS organisation- which is now part of something else but a bit of it is still at http://www.osni.gov.uk/mapstore.htm I have used Elstead maps and can recommend them http://www.elstead.co.uk http://www.alangodfreymaps.co.uk do historical maps but they tend to be mostly of towns.     3. The free online maps at http://www.ordnancesurvey.co.uk are only modern road maps. Maybe the National Library in Wellington has OS Maps you can have copied.
