    3. There is no guarantee this is him but there leaves a possibility. He could have even been gone before 1864 but whomever was responsible for recording the changes to the evaluations did not make note of this until 1864. What I do know is this at least proves evident there was a person named George McConkey (McConchy) living in Co. Tyrone Prior to 1870. 3. Hi Robert I think I have talked to Ray. My 4th great Grandmother was Letitia Moorhead Huey.. Hueys and Moorheads may be from near there.. Letitia Moorhead and James Huey have Mary Jane, John and James in Leckpatrick Tyrone Letitia is born in 1811 John is born in Derryloran Tyrone c. 1800 as is Elizabeth.. and David All born to James and Isabella Moorhead from Derryloran. The father of James Moorhead is John from Derryloran. Mary Jane Huey’s parents were Protestant but the Moorheads may have been Catholic. I am not sure. Mary Jane Huey marries James Sweeney, a Catholic and they come to Philadelphia on the Mohongo in 1853. They were all farmers and they went to Southern New Jersey immediately to farm. Does this seem like your family? Kathleen Carrow Ingram

    3. Hello Robert. I don't think that we have been in touch before about MOORHEADs. Would like to chat with you about them though. I have NO proof of a connection with the MOORHEADs of Ballymullerty at all; but do have a very strong 'gut' feeling that it is there; due to the strong PARK connection with the same parish and townland --- as one of my Thomas MOORHEAD antecedents married an Elizabeth PARK -- and one small piece of possible evidence has them as being from County Tyrone. (However, the Death Certificate which provides this information, from a MOORHEAD nephew who had been born in Camus parish nearby, is indistinct on Elizabeth's surname, so there is a faint chance that instead of PARK, it might rather be PACK, or POAK, or BOAK, or DOAK --- so I keep an eye out for those as well; but feel fairly sure that PARK will probably be her maiden surname.) Please get in touch via e-mail if you'd like to pursue this further. Regards. The name of a branch of the Scottish clan ROBERTSON numerous in east Ulster. Ballymaconaghy is near Newry." Rob Doragh Liverpool UK From: [email protected] Date: Mon, 2 Dec 2013 Subject: McConkey Hi Dennis, While I can't help with your family, I think it may well be useful to search for McConaghy (and variants of same) as I believe it's the same name as McConkey. I find it is always worth keeping spelling variations in mind, especially for the time frame you are researching. Bernie
