    3. Edward, The Majority of the land looks to be situated between Tullyvar Rd. / A5 and Lisginny Rd. in the Parish of Carnteel travelling between Ballygawley and Aughnacloy. Lisginny Rd. looks like it intersects the A5 at just about half way between Ballygawley and Aughnacloy. As I said the majority of the said land is just East of the A5 and to the North of Lisginny Rd. A small portion of it goes north beyond the A5. Alos Archibald Hadden looks to be buried in Ballygawley Presbyterian maybe it is possible you will find your people buried there or in Aughnacloy. Have a safe trip. Is there a way to find the location of this land? I have also found documents stating Samuel Cobean owned 65 acres of land in Canankilgreen, described in Griffiths Valuation [1.10.0 -1860] as Lot 20a. Samuel sold the land in 1864 to Archibald Hadden, whose grandson opened a limestone quarry known as Cavankilgreen Quarries ,part of the firm "Quarry Masters". Again I am looking to find the location. 3. Seeking information about George and Isabella Hunter. They lived at from mid 1850's. George died in 1888 and Isabella after 1901 census. They had seven children: James, Mary Jane, Eliza, George, Isabella, Isaac and Martha. All their children emigrated to England, Scotland, Australia and USA. So this Hunter line has died out in Ireland. I think George was born about 1812 and Isabella about 1816. he is listed in Griffiths as a tenant of Cecil Holmes there is a John Hunter living adjacent but I don't know if he is related. I can't go any further back using Ancestry. Can anyone help? Thanks Richard Hunter

    3. Thanks to Cate Ryan from Maryanne Bayliss. Great that you had your Retirement Irish trip. This will be my very belated Irish Retirement holiday, not so much travelling but researching Ancestors. Shame I have left it so late in life that the Rental Car Agents won't rent me a car because I am over 70. Probably safer to keep me off the road anyway as some of those lanes are so narrow. So yes I will be using the Public transport system. And thanks I will contact the NIFHS before I leave. It must be the only Irish Society that I don't subscribe to, although I do read their Magazine through the NZ Genealogy Society.. I am so excited even though it is a 30 hour journey as I now have an Irish Passport so need to make use of it.

    3. Thankyou Elizabeth for suggesting the Historical Society Stewartstown, I hadn't heard of it. I am also interested in the History of the Brigh Presbyterian Church it goes back a long way. Have read a lot about it on the Net. I will be relying on Public transport and Taxis as apparently they don't rent cars out to people over 70 :-( I think I mentioned previously my Faulkner Ancestors ended up in Victoria, so I am only just over the ditch from you. Have searched Victoria Records to no avail.

    3. Maryanne, If you have their marriages and the baptisms of some children in Brigh Presbyterian church, do you not have the name of the townland where they were living? That is always the key. If you know that, finding your people is easy. The dates would also help, especially if the marriage is pre 1845.
