    2. Hi Maurie, Check out the following link. http://maps.osi.ie/publicviewer/#V1,614702,612942,7,7 You have a number of map options. Look in particular at Historic 6" and historic 25". Also zoom in and out slightly. On the 25" you will see Bannard House. In the same location on the 6" map you will find Pastorville Village. The 6" map is the older one dating from the first Ordnance Survey maps of about 1830. The 25" map is from the late 1800's or early 1900's. The townland is Garryduff which covers 999 acres (1.56 square miles). It is a long narrow townland running from the top of the "mountain" (926 feet) in the south to the Suir River (pronounced shure) in the north. The northern part of the townland in good agricultural land. Also check out Griffiths Valuation at http://www.askaboutireland.ie/griffith-valuation/index.xml to find out who lived in Garryduff in 1850. Best regards, Seamus, Seamus Moore, Dublin, Ireland. I am researching a family that have lived for over 200 years in Banard/Barnard near Newcastle Co. Tipperary. The name goes back to at least 1778 where I found it referred to in a will as Baneard. Banard is not a townland but seems to form the upper portion of the townlands of Boolahallagh and Garryduff and also include Pastor Ville. I would like to confirm the above and also find the boundaries of Banard. Any help would be appreciated. Maurie. Melbourne, Australia.
