    3. I had my grandfather's actual naturalization document. He came to new york city in the 1880s. You have the name of the court and you should be able to write to them to get the rest of the file. The NYC court where my grandfather was naturalized sent me his papers which included a transcript of the hearing. Since he was gone before I was born, it was neat to read my grandfather's actual words. It's worth a try for sure, though it only had "Co. Tipperary" for place of birth. For me, it was confirmation. If I could view that or get a copy that would help a lot. Any suggestions. I have a ships manifest that almost matches that index card info. It sailed from Derry and arrived in Philadelphia in May 1867 and the Owen McBride on the manifest was 17 at the time. That is why I want to concentrate on the naturalization document.
