Hello all you Ryan Researchers . My Ryan was Matthew . I also searched the great work of Janet and never came across a Matthew Ryan , My Matthew and Julia Tobin`s children were all Baptised from 1831 to 1844 at the Bansha Catholic Church . That is the only Irish record of this family , but Julia and family are in London in 1851 Census but no Matthew . Even with an uncommon name I am stuck . Cheers to all and good luck . Hello Laurie,  This is a long shot, but I have a Matthew Ryan born around 1830 living in New York state in 1860 with his wife Catherine White and an elderly woman (his mother?) named Julia Ryan.  Was one of the children named Matthew Jr. perhaps? Hello Ellen , Thankyou for your thought , it could open a door . Could be a cousin or nephew for Matthew is an uncommon name . Your Matthew could be the son of my Matthew`s brother . I do not know Matthew`s Parents but my Matthew would have been born c1800 and married c1830 to Julia Tobin . Do you know where your Ryans came from .
