I have discovered birth/baptism information for my relatives, both Burnes and Reardon, that indicate "Emly, Tipperary, Ireland after the birthdate. Does Emly indicate a church or a village ? In either case, are the records available ? What information might they give ? The Burnes' births range from 1867-80 ( I have the parents' names of Patrick and Johanna Donohue Burnes) The children were John D, Catherine, Mary, Anne, Edmond, Thomas, Honora, Patrick. Three of the Burnes' children remained in Ireland in the general area of Kilross: Michael Burnes, and Mrs. Eliza Lewis, Mrs. John Hartnett. The Reardon's births range from 1864-1878 (Parents' John and Mary Dwyer Reardon). Names: John D, Michael, Catherine, Honoria, James, William. They lived near Russell family in Kilross. Could anyone explain about the reference to Emly ? Do any of these names seem familiar ? Any suggestions where I can look for further information? Joanne, Emly is a Roman Catholic Parish near Tipperary Town. I am sure there are others on the list who will provide additional information. I also research Reardon's/Riordan's from that area. They are my wife's ancestors and I know there is a connection to the Dwyer name in Ireland because my wife's now deceased aunt told of a female cousin named Dwyer that lived with the family in Providence. My wife's gg grandfather Jeremiah came to Providence and built a house there. His brothers were John, Edmund and Thomas, all came to the states. Two sisters, Mary & Johanna stayed in Ireland. Mary Reardon married William Hanley and they had 13 children 4 of them going to USA. Ellen Hanley married John Dwyer (in Providence) who was said to be from Tipperary but unconfirmed. Lots of dots. But can they be connected? If anything fits let me know. Carmen D.
