Janet, If a woman's name is listed as a tenant, would that indicate she was a widow? Would single women, at this time, be tenants in their own right? I'm a little unclear on the tenancy rules. Joanna, I am not all that sharp either, but some are noted as widow's, so maybe some of these are or maybe daughters inheriting when their father dies. Maybe somebody knows from working with the later census????
