Hi! Hoping someone can help with this! I have been trying to get more information on my great grandmother who was from Tipperary. Her name was Margaret CAHILL and thought she was born in 1869 but her death certificate states 1872 but that could be incorrect. She came over to US in 1887 and married John MAGUIRE in 1894. They settled in Troy, NY and I have found a few possible immigration records but can't tell for sure if that would be her or not. She died in 1931 in Troy, NY and her obituary states she came from Tipperary when she was 17. One passenger list for the Arizona which landed on June 20 1887 in NY looks like it might fit. Can't read the age but it has two sisters with her Anna and I think Abina CAHILL. The City of Troy has no records for their marriage there and I have checked the NYC marriages list and can't find anything there. Anyone with any information on CAHILL family from Troy, NY or Margaret in particular I would love to hear from you. Any ideas on where I go from here?
This may be totally irrelevant but there is a marriage for Abina Josephine Cahill in Manhattan in 1890 showing on Italiangen. A very long shot but may be worth following up.
