I am going to put on the Freemen of Co. Tipperary as of 1840. Freemen were allowed to vote in elections and in order to be a Freeman one had to have a tie to land, i.e. ownership, or a lease for lives; a month to month tenancy would not do; if you didn't have a land connection, you will not be on this list. There are a lot of these and the listing very convenient as they fall between the Tithes and Griffiths. I AM GOING TO NEED YOUR HELP with the surnames and maybe the townlands in some cases. Any surname you recognize as being connected to the area in the message will help as the writing is very difficult to read and I am sure to get a lot of the spelling wrong. For right now consider what I am putting out as a rough draft. I'll start with Lower Ormond and the initial area seems to be Nenagh, Ballingarry and Loughkeen and places nearby. If you have a connection to any of these men, now would be a great time to talk about them. Janet
